Family Night

Today, my wonderful (and brave) husband took the day off from work to spend time with us. That's the brave part! He suggested with a little help from Katie that we "camp out" overnight in his office. And we actually did (that's the wonderful part!) We stayed up late, ate popcorn, watched Winnie the Pooh and had lots of giggles! I'm choosing NOT to share pictures of the morning after because let's be real, we looked terrible! Sure the kids were cute, but after a night of NO sleep on the floor, Loren and I looked awful.

Family night was family day too!
We had an absolutely beautiful day so the kids got to get their bikes out and go for a spin. Katie enjoys riding around the mountain of snow at the end of our culdesac as fast as she possibly can while Sammy enjoys getting his bike "stuck" in the snow and then getting off the bike to "fix" it. Then maybe chase Katie around the mountain on foot for awhile.

Beauty Shop...and other things

I know it's weird that I let Sammy play beauty shop with Katie, but it's the end of February and we're running out of indoor activities. Sammy looks pretty good, doesn't he? Chica even found herself falling victim..I mean... participating in the beauty shop action!

.....The After Party!

And now two sparkling kiddos. Well, almost. I think Sammy still has some lip gloss in his hair. Oh well.

Not only did Sammy discover beauty shop today, he also discovered his inner rock star. After nap time I found him on "stage" belting out "God is so Good" while he played his ukulele. Some of the other selections we enjoyed were "My God is so big", The Bible themes songs (Thanks Uncle Roland!) and a perennial favorite, "The Pirates who don't do anything." I think we'll hold off on a stage name for now.

Our Little Valentines

Here are some pictures from our Valentine's evening. We went to Applebee's and had a yummy dinner and some good laughs with our kids! It's good to get out and appreciate our children and have some quality time together as a family.

I've also included some pictures of Katie's class Valentine's party today. Watching 12 4 and 5 year olds try to read and pass out Valentine's is quite entertaining! The kids were very cute (especially Milo the blonde boy with messy hair next to Katie!)

Preevyet!!

For those of you (like me) who don't speak Russian, this means hello. Sammy has a Russian hat brought back by Grandma and Grandpa which he loves dearly. We thought we'd try Loren's Russian hat on him and it fit like a....well....a hat! He proudly wore it at Home Depot tonight. Katie's hat as you can tell, is not Russian, but she thought it should be included.
